PROGRAMME HEALTH-CHECK OF RENEWALS PORTFOLIO

Supporting the delivery of circa 30 projects at different stages of the project lifecycle across a diverse Renewals Workbank. Established a project improvement workstream to undertake root cause analysis of programme slippage. Developed and rolled-out a project health check questionnaire, and then led individual project teams in deep dive reviews focusing particularly on governance compliance and schedule completeness. The approach provided assurance to senior leadership that project schedules were more realistic and reliable. These changes led to significantly improved team engagement, schedule ownership and, improved budget and schedule performance.

SOUTH KENSINGTON STATION CAPACITY UPGRADE

A complex, multi-disciplinary, multi- stakeholder project with some significant risk areas to be addressed during detailed design and construction. Promantle advised on what might cause the costs of a successful tenderer to increase post-award and/or for tenderer’s costs to be driven by unresolved risks in scope. Benefits of proposed approach included: 
• Less mature designs are managed by specialist resource, and therefore taken off the contractor’s critical path
• Client closely manages the higher operational risk works
• Majority of Client activities de-risked

COLINDALE STATION REDEVELOPMENT

The Colindale Station Redevelopment project team required greater certainty that their baseline scheme was both cost-effective and buildable. Promantle provided the team with an advisory service that enabled a detailed “two phase” procurement approach. The objective was to ensure that the best value proposal was awarded the Design and Build Contract.

The collaborative “two-phase” procurement approach developed by our team:

• Achieved a 20% reduction in the forecasted costs of design and construction.

• Built more certainty about the deliverability of the scheme and a clearer understanding of the risks associated with it.

PROGRESS REVIEW - CENTRAL LONDON 125,000 SQ FT DEVELOPMENT

Independent review of enabling, build and fit-out works of a new retail, restaurant and leisure development in the heart of London with over 125,000 sq ft of local, independent and national retail and leisure occupiers. Promantle provided the Client:

• Commentary on the progress reported by the Main Contractor,

• An early consideration of the Draft Completion Programme, specifically focusing on achievability,

• Analysis of changes to the schedule critical path and

• Recommendations for next steps and mitigation.

LONDON PUBLIC REALM DEVELOPMENT MEP DESIGN REVIEW

Over a period of 3 months, we undertook a third party review of a multi-disciplinary, integrated detailed MEP design for major public realm development (c£350M) to consider:  

  • Alignment with RIBA Stage 4 and BSRIA BG6/2018 guidelines.

  • Buildability, Access & Maintenance and Fire Standards.

  • Compliance with the Main Contract.


The output of the review was to provide observations, comments and recommendations to support legal opinion.
